Vestibular Rehabilitation

Vestibular rehabilitation is a highly specialised branch of physiotherapy that treats dizziness and balance disorders.  You will undergo a thorough assessment and a treatment plan will be discussed with you at the end of the session.  Some patients may require further medical investigation prior to undertaking vestibular rehabilitation but this will be advised if necessary.

Conditions treated:

  • Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo (BPPV)

  • Vestibular Hypofunction

  • Acoustic Neuroma

  • Vestibular Neuritis

  • Persistent Postural Perceptual Dizziness (PPPD)

  • Vestibular Migraine

  • Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Vestibular rehabilitation will be dependent upon your diagnosis and needs, but could include the following:

  • Canalith repositioning manoeuvres eg. Epley

  • Gaze stabilisation exercises

  • Habituation exercises

  • Balance exercises

  • Graded walking program
